Gerome Meminger Sr. was born in Hampton Virginia. After
retiring from the military, he pursued his artistic passions and became
an artist, a poet, and an author of the books entitled “Poetry
Art & Truth” and “The Lonely Little Blue Book”.
Gerome embarked on a new chapter of his life and is often referred
to as “A Renaissance Man”. He wears several hats, one day
he is an artist, with his art on display in a museum or gallery. The
next day he may appear at Barnes & Noble or Walden's Book Store,
signing his books. This artist has the ability to express his views
with paper, paint and pen, creating poetry and artwork. He writes to
stir an emotion, to touch a nerve, or generate a smile. He feels, if
his poetry can cause either of these reactions in you, then that’s
good!
Gerome's appreciation of fine art was inspired by many
visits to museums, and admiring many of the great masters art works,
which stirred his
deep desire to paint. This versatile, talented self-taught artist has
an innate ability to paint. His style is unique, and can be characterized
by
self-isolation,
concentration of thought and the brilliant use of colors. He draws
from his inner feelings allowing his subconscious to become the
driving force. Gerome's art can be described as abstract, bordering
on impressionistic.
Each brush stroke is refreshingly uncomplicated, contemporary,
vibrant, unrestricted and forthright. His works combine a sensitive
yet bold
use of colors, a palette full of character and expression, constantly
teasing and pushing back the limits of the imagination.
